Pack for the Gap Between Games
The first game is easy to plan for. It’s the three hours afterward that can catch you off guard.
Will there be shade? Is there time to leave for lunch? Does “we play again at two” actually mean two—or whenever the game ahead of us finishes?
A little planning for the gap can make a long tournament day more comfortable.
Pack water and a snack you’ll still want when it’s warm outside. Bring something to sit on, a phone charger, and a light layer for changing weather. For younger siblings, a coloring book or small activity can buy everyone a welcome break.
Keep one small pouch for the things that disappear at exactly the wrong moment: sunscreen, hair ties, tissues, and an extra pair of socks.
Before you leave, check the venue’s bag rules. A clear bag can make essentials easier to find, but each facility sets its own requirements.
The goal isn’t to pack your whole house. It’s to make the waiting part easier—so you still have a little energy left when it’s time to cheer again.
